Gab Brioso is an architect and digital designer whose practice operates between art and design, using spatial thinking to question how technologies shape meaning, behavior, and experience.

Trained in architecture, he works across digital and physical media, often misusing tools, systems, and interfaces to resist predictability and the increasing sterility of contemporary space, especially within digital environments optimized for frictionless interaction. Central to his work is an attraction to weird, exaggerated, and irregular forms. For Gab, form is performative rather than resolved. Its nooks, crannies, and inconsistencies invite exploration, misuse, and multiple interpretations. These formal gestures introduce friction and pause, encouraging people to navigate objects and spaces actively rather than consume them passively.

Alongside this formal inquiry, Gab is interested in how large-scale contemporary conditions, such as hyperconnectivity, digital disinformation, and online intimacy, can be consolidated into tangible artefacts without flattening their complexity. These works function as navigational tools for engaging an increasingly ultra-specific world.

Gab teaches design theory and studio courses in Manila and has exhibited locally and internationally, including at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and Art Fair Philippines. Recent works were presented under Kakakompyuter Mo Yan! at DEMO 2024 in New York and Art Fair Philippines 2025.
