The Real Houses series is an exploration on the synthetic/staged properties of posts, profiles, and other social media affordances generated by fake accounts and paid influencers on Facebook. The artworks in this series highlight these effects through exaggeration by repetition, creating almost a machinic visual language that frames those qualities.
Hidden within each visual composition is a QR code which points to an augmented reality (AR) object that the viewer can interact with. The AR object mimics a cubic house that contains textures of social media components that the artwork is based on.
