Studio: weird enough to stay
Design studio under De La Salle - College of St. Benilde
The studio’s project was interested in unpacking the realm of private objects and transforming them into large objects that interface with the public domain. Students were tasked to “teach” objects [as if they were sentient] that they found in their personal abodes, architectural gestures such as program, posture, scale, affordance, and etc. through formal and gestural abstraction.
As the objects grew weirder, we were also interested in looking into the programming of uncanny forms and how the architect’s role in the age of post-digital should be to go beyond creating space under a human-centric lens.
